    I read Ivan Turgeniev’s FIRST LOVE in my early teens (in the 50’s).
    Ah, the mystery and complexity of love.
    From the book: Beware of the love of women.
    Beware of that poison, that slow ecstacy’.

    Was he right in this regard? Or was he maligned?
    If love were poison, all of us would have been long dead and no one would be left on earth.
